This blend brings together two complementary profiles of Japanese tea.

Yabukita , the most widespread cultivar in Japan, brings its vegetal freshness and slight liveliness, offering a clear and direct aromatic structure.

Okumidori , being milder and richer in amino acids, softens the whole: it rounds out the umami, reduces the astringency and enhances the color with a deep green .

In the cup, the result is balanced : a fresh attack, followed by a persistent sweetness and a smooth umami.

This versatile blend reveals a harmonious character, both accessible and refined, ideal for tasting neat or as a latte.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a ceremonial matcha and a classic matcha?

Ceremonial matcha comes from the first harvest, with young leaves that have been shaded for a long time. It is slowly stone-ground, offering a rich umami flavor, a silky texture, and no bitterness. Regular matchas are often more bitter, less refined, and can be used in cooking.

What is the difference between Jade and Rêve, two ceremonial matcha?

Their difference lies in the cultivars and harvesting methods that give them subtly different aromas. Jade offers a softer and rounder profile, with cocoa and iodine notes, while Rêve is distinguished by a more vegetal and assertive expression.

Is Jade organic?

Yes, Jade is JAS certified, the Japanese equivalent of the organic label. It is therefore grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, according to Japanese organic standards.

Does matcha contain caffeine?

There are approximately 30 to 35 mg of caffeine per gram, or 60 to 70 mg for a typical 2g dose. This is equivalent to an espresso, but without the jittery spike: L-theanine slows down absorption and promotes calm and prolonged alertness.

Can I drink matcha every day?

Yes, no problem. Up to 2 to 3 cups a day if you tolerate it well. It's stimulating without being overstimulating, making it an excellent alternative to coffee, especially in the morning or before work requiring concentration.
